Welcome Back

Take your granitesd and One drive files with you when you leave!!

  • It is your work KEEP IT.
  • You might have younger siblings that may need it! ;)
  • You might have the same (or similar) assignments in college.
  • You might want that information later in life.
  • Ten years from now it will be fun to look at it.  You'll thank me!
  • Your children will be impressed and wonder what PowerPoint was!
To get to your files while at HOME...
Log in to the Portal. (portal.graniteschools.org)
Find Web Storage. (Green tile under district resources tab.)
Download your files.
Upload them to your Google drive.
If you signed up for websites (Weebly, NoodleTools, Kahoot, ...) with your @GraniteSD.org or @graniteschools.org account you may lose access to those websites as well.  Log in to those sites and change your e-mail address.
Change APPLE ID if you used a school email address, otherwise you won't be able to manage your personal devices.

Other Accounts -

first. clean up!

Second. Combine

  • Both your One Drive and your Google Drive.  You don't need EVERYTHING.  Keep the important things and the content products.  Your GraniteSD account has "unlimited storage" most other accounts will not have as much.
  • Save any email attachments you may want to a new folder.
Get all your files in one spot.
  • Upload to your GraniteSD account.

Then do one or more of the following

Google Takeout - myaccount.google.com

(recommended for continued use)
Allows you to "Archive" and download or "transfer" to another account all your Google content.
  • Transfer should be the easy way.  Log in with your GraniteSD account and transfer to your personal account. You could create a brand new account and call it something like "Me_In_Highschool" then it is not mixed in with your personal stuff.
  • Get the code. Transfer. Wait. Easy!
  • Not sure what happens if you don't have enough space.
Or you can Archive it.
  • Scroll Down to Download or Delete Data
  • Click on Download Data
  • Select "None" then re-select what you DO WANT. Probably just Drive, email, Bookmarks.
  • Click "Next"
  • Delivery Method - "e-mail a link" to your personal account.
  • One-Time archive
  • File type = ".zip".
  • Archive size, go big, but make sure you have a hard drive (thumb drive) large enough for it.
  • I have NO IDEA how long it will take - it depends on how much you have.  Wait for the email.  Download the archive to your drive or home computer.
  • Log in to personal account.
  • Save "Take Out Folder" to Drive.
  • IF you are the owner of ANY SHARED files or folders.  The documents will "disappear" for them.  Same with you - if any are shared with you and the owner is leaving their files will be deleted.

Download it.

(recommended for historical reasons) YES do BOTH!
Download your One Drive to your Google Drive. Then drag and drop it to an External USB drive.  Easy. Easy to loose also! Put this drive in your treasure chest!
